Based on the JCM900 4100 Dual Reverb, this is perhaps one of those amplifiers you either love or hate there rarely seems to be any middle ground. To avoid this, we took the original amplifier and modified it for our MODFIRE series.
We added a voicing switch for each channel, allowing you to keep the stock character or tame those aggressive yet distinctive highs of the JCM900. That bright character is also what gives it some of the best clean tones found in Marshall amplifiers.
We also added an independent gain switch, which adds an extra valve to the preamp, much like the SL-X. On the clean channel, it provides an additional push that can evoke the feel of a JTM45 or a Bluesbreaker.
